NEW LONDON, Conn. -- Colby College's Dani Lonati (Franklin, Mass./Chemistry) and Shannon Gray (pictured, East Bridgewater, Mass./Physics) combined for eight saves, but Connecticut College scored a goal in each half in a 2-0 victory in NESCAC women's soccer Sunday.
The Mules, who took a 3-2 win at Trinity College on Saturday, fall to 3-3 overall and 1-3 in the league. The Camels move to 5-2 overall and 1-2 in the conference.
* Lonati had a terrific diving save in the first half to keep the game scoreless. She dove to her right and had to deflect the hard shot away. Lonati had five saves in the first half and Gray stopped three in the final 45 minutes.
* Zoe Stublarec had a fine individual effort on the game-winning goal. She kept a defender on her back on a throw-in, went hard to the left with the dribble, and hit a left-footed shot that may have gone off a Colby defender with 4:46 left to halftime.
* The Camels' Kat Norton added an insurance goal with 20:48 remaining off a cross from Alex Baltazar.
* Colby will play host to Middlebury College on Saturday at 11 a.m.
