No. 40 women's tennis earns 9-0 win over Conn College

WATERVILLE, Maine -- Lydia Venditti, Gabriela Venditti, and Maddie Lupone all won in super tie-breakers for the 40th-ranked Colby College women's tennis team in a 9-0 NESCAC win over Connecticut College on Saturday.

Lupone (pictured) lost the opening set at fifth singles, but bounced back for a 6-3 win in the second set. She then won 10-3 in the super tie-breaker.
The Venditti sisters both won their first sets to take early control. Lydia Venditti won 10-4 in her super tie-breaker and Gabriela Venditti was a 10-6 winner. 
First-year players Callie Nesbitt and Jessica Tsai both earned easy victories. Nesbitt rolled to a 6-3, 6-1 win at third singles, while Tsai took a 6-3, 6-0 victory at fourth singles. Isha Banerjee also had a 6-1, 6-2 victory at sixth singles.
Lydia Venditti and Tsai won 9-7 at first doubles, while Gabriela Venditti and Nesbitt also took a tight match in an 8-6 score. Jamie Pine and Lupone were 8-2 winners at third doubles.
