WATERVILLE, Maine – The women's tennis team qualified as an Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-Academic Team for the 2018-19 season. The ITA requires that All-Academic Teams maintain a collective 3.2 grade point average among their varsity letter winners.
In addition to the team's accomplishment, Carly Levitz, Lydia Venditti, Gabriela Venditti, Jessica Tsai, Katharine Dougherty, Emilia Callery, and Gabriella Gabel were all named All-Academic Scholar Athletes. To qualify, individuals needed to maintain a grade point average of at least 3.5 over the academic year. In her first year with the Mules, Levitz played #1 singles, qualifying as an alternate for the individual national tournament. She was also a versitile member of the doubles team, playing on all three teams at different points of the season. Lydia Venditti played #1 doubles and #2 singles during her senior year, while co-captain Gabriela Venditti played #2 doubles and #3 singles. Tsai played #1 doubles and often played either #5 or #6 singles, while Dougherty usually slotted into the #5 or #6 singles spot as well. The Mules graduate both Gabriela and Lydia Venditti but bring back the remainder of their team.
