CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Sophie Stokes Cerkvenik broke her own school record in the 110-meter hurdles and then helped Colby College's 400 relay team tie a school record in a last chance qualifying women's track and field meet at MIT on Thursday.
Stokes Cerkvenik had a time of 14.34 to win the event and just beat her school record time of 14.37. Bridgewater State's Jayci Andrew placed second in 14.37.
Julia Rembetsy-Brown, Taylor Depalo (pictured), Stokes Cerkvenik, and Sara Friedland joined forces to tie the 2012 school record in the 400 relay with a time of 47.70. The Mules finished second behind Rhode Island College, which also had a 47.70.
Friedland took sixth place in the 100 dash (12.53) and Rembetsy-Brown was eighth in the triple jump (36-2).
