Relay team second, O'Hara third in heptathlon at New England D3 meet

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Colby College's 1,600-meter relay team of Kristen Mahoney, Taylor DePalo, Sophie Stokes Cerkvenik, and Rachel Leonard finished second at the New England Division III Championships on Saturday.

The foursome finished in a time of 3:56.87, finishing just behind MIT (3:56.01). The Mules beat both Bowdoin and Bates in the race.
Emma O'Hara competed in the final three events of the heptathlon and placed third overall. She had a 15-8.75 in the long jump, 91-3.25 in the javelin, and a 2:28.08 in the 800 meters. O'Hara finished with 4,105 points.
Colby's 3,200 relay team of Rebecca Berube, Brit Biddle, Helen Chavey, and Lydia Fanning combined to take seventh place in 9:52.56.
Julia Rembetsy-Brown placed 10th in the triple jump (36-6.25), Isa Berzansky finished 12th in the high jump (5-0.5), and Cait Lawlor was 15th in the 1,500 meters (4:45.41). Helen Chavey took 21st in the 1,500 meters (4:56.53).
Margaret Giles also took 21st in the 800 meters (2:19.70), Fanning was a place behind in 22nd with a 2:19.78, and Biddle took 31st with a 2:26.28. Emma MacCallum placed 22nd in the shot put (34-9.25).
The Mules placed 19th in the meet with 16 points.
