Johnson, Stokes Cerkvenik top ten at interdivisional New England Outdoor Championships

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The women's outdoor track and field team traveled to Southern Connecticut State University for the interdivisional New England Championships. The team faced primarily division I competition, with Dartmouth taking the team win over University of Rhode Island, UMass Amherst, Quinnipiac, and Assumption.

Sharde Johnson recorded Colby's top finish for the Mules, tying for 6th in the high jump at 1.63 meters. The jump was just 0.2m shy of her personal best.

Sophie Stokes Cerkvenik also represented Colby in the top ten, placing 7th in the 400 m hurdles with a time of 1:03.65.

Rachel Leonard , and Annah Rossvall ran well for the Mules, placing 11th in the 400 (57.56) and 20th in the 400 m hurdles (1:06.26), respectively.

The 4x100 m relay team of Rossvall, Leonard, Stokes Cerkvenik, and Christie Woodside finished 15th in the event in a time of 50.11.


Colby travels next to the Williams and MIT last chance qualifiers this Thursday and Friday, their last meets before the NCAA Championships (5/23-5/25).
