Stokes Cerkvenik earns All-American honor, takes fifth in NCAA 60 hurdles

BOSTON, Mass. -- Sophie Stokes Cerkvenik earned All-American honors and placed fifth in the 60-meter hurdles Saturday at the NCAA Division III Women's Indoor Track and Field Championships.

Stokes Cerkvenik, a national champion and All-American in the 100-meter hurdles during the outdoor season, had a time of 8.82. She qualified eighth for the championship final with an 8.84 in Friday's preliminary races.

"It was a good end to my last indoor season," Stokes Cerkvenik said. "My goal was to compete and to come out higher than what I was seeded, which I did as I was seeded sixth coming into day one."
