Ryan Wagner, a former assistant coach for Colby track and field, returns for his second year as an assistant in the 2017-18 academic year.
Wagner was an assistant for the Mules in 2010-11 and helped coach sprints, hurdles, and horizontal jumps.
Wagner earned a bachelor’s degree in 2000 and competed in track and field at Syracuse University. He also was a Big East Academic All-Star. Wagner received his master’s degree in health and physical education from East Stroudsburg University in 2002.
Wagner was the head coach for cross country and an assistant track and field coach at Kennesaw State University from 2011 to 2013. While working at University of Maine at Farmington, Wagner was a volunteer assistant track and field coach and worked with sprinters, hurdlers, and jumpers.
Wagner was head men’s and women’s cross country coach from 2008 to 2015. He helped the women/s program win the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) title in 2008, 2009, and 2010. Wagner was the NAC Coach of the Year after the 2008 and 2009 seasons.
In high school coaching, Wagner was at both Marshfield (2005-08) and Scituate (2003-2005) as a head coach.
