Petherbridge, Hanssen lead volleyball to comeback victory

CASTINE, Maine -- Nicole Petherbridge had no attack errors, nine kills, and hit .391 for the Colby College volleyball team in a 3-1 comeback win over Maine Maritime Academy on Tuesday night.

The Mules improve to 6-14 and have won three of the past four matches. The Mariners, who beat Colby earlier in the season, dropped to 18-12.
By the numbers
* The Mules won by set scores of 21-25, 25-12, 25-22, 25-21.
* Petherbridge (pictured), who had 23 total attacks, also had two service aces.
* Paige Hanssen led all players in kills with 14 and added a team-high 14 digs, two blocks, and two aces. Elizabeth Middlebrook hit .310 with 11 kills and two attack errors. Kate Wincek finished with five kills.
* Molly Manuel had a team-high 19 assists, while Emily Moslener added 14 assists and two aces for Colby. Mae Sefransky had 10 digs for the Mules.
Next on the schedule
* The Mules close out the season with NESCAC road matches at Trinity College on Friday at 8 p.m. and Amherst College on Saturday at 2 p.m.
